Shelter Tents for Pondok Bambu Fire Victims Built

Shelter for fire victims at RT 09/03 Pondok Bambu, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta has been built on Jalan Inspeksi Kanal Banjir Timur (KBT). Besides, East Jakarta Social Sub-dept. has prepared public kitchen to fulfill their needs of food.

Pondok Bambu Urban Village Head, Angga Sastra Amidjaya said, his side has coordinated with East Jakarta Social Sub-dept. Shelter tent set up on Jl. Inspeksi KBT or precisely on bicycle lane. Based on data at the location, those 36 burned houses are accommodated by 36 families or 140 people.

"We have coordinated with Social Sub-dept to set up the tent. We are still installing it so we hope fire victims can be patient and stay at the shelter for a while," he conveyed, Monday (5/21).

Not only tents, his side also prepares instant foods, clothes, blanket, medicines, and others for the victims.

Meanwhile, East Jakarta Social Sub-dept.'s Protection and Social Empowerment Section head, Abdul Salam informed, a tent can accommodate 100 people. According to a procedure, tent is available for three days and additional tents will be given if needed.

"Besides tent, we also place public kitchen near the location. It will be operated by 12 Taruna Siaga Bencana personnel," he said.

Yesterday's late afternoon, his side prepared 170 food packages for these victims to break the fast.
